I guess Animax got the streaming rights for R1 for Nodame Cantabile since their dub is on crackle. and personally I am huge Funimation dub but I would prefer this dub (plus some typesetting) on the dvd release, rather then a new funimation dub because this dub is AMAZING, I have yet to have a problem with any charter, in fact just the opposite. I LOVE the accent for stressamon is SPOT ON, funimation take note that is how you do an accent. I still find nodame to be annoying however I do not blame the dub for that since she is just as annoying in japanese. and I actually showed my mom this series and this actually liked it, she is a piano teacher after all.

Ok....so....what exactly are you asking us to talk about in regards to this show being dubbed? All I am seeing is a fan rant. O.o

You might want to work on your post as there isn't much to discuss here.

Funimation hasn't licensed it for clarifiction- from my understanding, Sony produced the dub, so i assume if anyone ever opts to pick it up for dvd release, they'll use the existing dub. I like what I've listened to of the first ep of it, so I hope at some point they'll do a home video release. For now, it's just a streaming show, though nice to see it continue to be available nonetheless.

I was wondering about peoples opinions on the dub, and the show. I did not mean to imply that funimation got the show, I just was using their dub level as a point of compressions to this dub.

So basically it's Cyborg 009 all over again? What happened Sony? Back in 2001-2002, Sony was such a great company (not the best, but not that bad either) and now a decade later, look at what they have become. Okay, yeah Cyborg 009 was a fairly old show and granted not as recent as Nodame Cantabile, but the situation seems like it is the same.

Read the manga years ago and I thought it was okay, but I just don't understand why Sony would sit on the license now and days. Wouldn't it be easier and more profitable to sell it to companies that actually want it?

Oh well, times have changed since a decade ago with Sony, for better and worse.
