Every time I tried to click on the Funimation banners on the main page,
I get to the wrong page. On the banner it says: www.funimation.com/animeclassics. When I click the banner (or type in the url in the address bar) it opens a page of Navarre Corportation (http://www.navarre.com/funimation/). I am totally not interested in Navarre and that Funimation entertainment is "a wholly-owned subsidiary". Has this to do with regional access (that would be ridiculous) or is the link completely wrong? IOW: How can I visit the Funimation site directly? |

Where are you located? Outside of the US a number of FUNimation's subsites redirect to the Navarre corporate site (I cannot access that particular page from the UK for example).

I live in The Netherlands (Holland), Europe.
It is sad to hear I am not the only one with this problem. Perhaps our money is not of any value, although the euro is hogher rated than the US dollar at the moment. |

I think it may be due to the show sites carrying trailers etc (although trailers having regional restrictions has never made sense to me..). In Holland I imagine most FUNi sites will be unavailable to you - here in the UK it depends on whether they have the UK license for the show in question (there are some odd exceptions, which may be simple errors).
I hope the new site, when it finally launches, will be a bit less restrictive with regards to accessing the actual sites. one workaround if you just want to see the information on the site is to use Google's cache - i.e. go to google.com (not your local version of google) and type cache:www.funimation.com/[site] in the search box e.g. www.google.com/search?q=cache:http://www.funimation.com/heatguyj/ Links on the site won't work since they lead back to the original site, you'll need to copy the link and put it back through the cache. It isn't that they don't want your money but that they don't have a license to distribute in your territory - you can buy their stuff from retailers willing to export to you, but if FUNimation sold or streamed stuff to you directly they would be in breach of contract. |
