What's the largest collection of manga(translated) you've seen in one place in North America? Also, where has anyone seen the largest collection of untranslated manga as well?

Kinokuniya (or however it's spelled)... was in their LA store once... floored me with the sheer amount of manga that they had.

(not quite what you meant, i know...)
... seeing something like 40' of manga, stacked from floor to ceiling... in multiple rows...

... it's just a tad impressive. :)

The Seattle Kinokuniya has about the same amount of authentic manga in it's store as well. It is very impressive to see all of that.

As for translated manga, the same store probably has the most I've seen as well. However, a local Borders books is rapidly growing their graphic novel/trade paperback manga section. There's a comic shop by Sea-Tac Airport that has about the same amount of translated manga as well.

Ah, Cookie-san's lucky! Last time I went to Little Tokyo, I couldn't find their LA Kinokuniya... but I did find Asahiya (which also has a huge manga section). I tend to either go to Nippon Bookstore in the Little Tokyo complex when I visit... which reminds me, I should go back soon! I have to get more Furuba!!

I forgot to add that Iwase in Richmond BC(Canada) has a very large collection of manga as well. Not as big as Kinokuniya, but still plenty to fill a bedroom with.

I love the seattle Kinokuniya, and whenever we have family come it's always a treat for me to come up from Olympia and show them all the big tourist places in Seattle and on the way home stop at Kinokuniya to buy Manga, Artbooks, and models.

Japan, Yokohama,
a store only with books and manga

"Bunkyou-do"

amount of manga: a shit load!!! I never saw so much manga in my life. Shelves and shelves and shelves from the floor to the celling..... O_O
couldnt believe my eyes... but I only bought 5 volumes of Hellsing there. I truely stocked up on manga in the Used Manga Stores... Get this: almost all mangas (used but in great condition) for 100 yen..... (less then 1$). And they had all the titles.
