The manga contains different stories so if you're looking for "what could of been if [ ] didn't die" then go for it. However I have to say the Shooting Star series wasn't as great as the 3 volume one.

I found the 3 volume series fairly average, and this was at a time when I hadn't read much manga and thought basically all manga was great. I didn't hate it or anything though, if you're a big fan of the show, I say go for it, chances are good you'll get something out of it. At 3 vols long it's not going to break the bank, and it's better than other things on the market, so you could do worse. I have since sold my copies though, if that says anything about it.

It's a really average series, but if you are a big Bebop fan, you probably will enjoy it.

The 3 volume manga happens about 4 or 5 episodes before the end of the series. Their alright and really just interesting side stories that the crew could have had. No expanded character developement or even added story. Their just there for entertainment sake. Really just for the Bebop enthusiast. The Shooting Star series is a 2 volume reimagining of Cowboy Bebop. The character's personalities are the same but the way Faye and Edward join Spike and Jet are different from the series. New enemies, new situations, it's alright. Also pretty much only for the Bebop faithful.
