It's finally here: the halfway point of Osamu Tezuka's magnum opus. Just a year ago it was doubtful if we'd ever see this, but with Viz's recent commitment and a renewed interest in Tezuka amoung alt. comic circles thanks to Buddha we can rest assured that all twelve volumes of the series will eventually appear stateside.
I just picked the sixth volume up today, and it's the thickest one yet (over 400 pages; pretty good deal for 17 bucks). I've only got through about a hundred or so pages, but it looks like one of the more ambitious instalments of Phoenix, second only to Future in terms of scope. Hopefully it will deliver. Any other impressions?

I haven't read through it yet, but did you notice that they skipped a chapter?
This volume is Nostalgia, the one that should have been released is Robe of Feathers, which from what I read was a very experimental volume, I really hope they didn't just decide to not release it...
Other than that I'm happy to see another volume of Phoenix out! One may have to wait an eternity to see this wonderful (horribly underpromoted particularly to the Indie Comix crowd, who only know about the much lesser Buddha) manga come out in its entirety.

Your right, Robe of Feathers does seen to come after resurrection. I have no idea why they'd release volumes outside the chronological order. I can't see why they'd decide to drop an entire volume when they announced that they would be publishing it in its entirety. Maybe they wanted a more accesable volume to help the series re-launch.
