I just watched Eureka Seven and it was amazing. The animation was well done. The story kept on growing and kept you on your toes the whole time. The characters never had it easy, and the romantic parts of the show were sweet. The action (which is important) was most vivid and well done. The music in the show was moving and inspirational. And last but not least, the show had some some friggin hillarious episodes.

With all that said, now I'm looking for anime that fits this standard. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be in your debt. It doesnt have to be of any specific genre, but some action is always nice.

Mike

P.S. My other favorite animes are One Piece, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, and Chrno Crusade. So we can leave these out Smile

I suggest RahXephon if you're looking for something simmiliar, it's even also animated by Bones as well. A good story, a good cast of characters, interesting mechs, and good action.

Well, Scrapped Princess does have most of those elements as well. It's a little light on the romance, but there's still some in there. The first volume is a little on the slow side, but it really picks up in the second and goes strong til the end.

... And Wolf's Rain is the other crown jewel of the Studio Bones library, with all the action, drama, romance and production quality one could ask for. You might have already seen it though, since it ran on CN a while back.
