Sorry if this is old news,
Was on computer with Fox Kids playing in the background and they hust had a commercial for a new show this fall.
"From the people that brought you Yu-Gi-Oh, Shaman King. Coming this fall to Fox Kids.
I have never seen Shaman King but from the small clip they showed it looked like the animation is pretty good. God only knows how the dubbing will be.

Well y'know Kirby Morrow is also doing an anime from 4Kids Entertainment, which's MegaMan NT Warrior. Also Scott McNeil. So with this VAs I don't see why that there will be flaws in this anime.
Or it could just be your opinion. because I like 4Kids Entertainment. The people doing animes with this company are doing a really great job, VAs like Veronica Taylor, Rachael Lillis etc.

Are you serious?! 4Kids Entertainment edit almost everything out. There are countless scenes in Yu-Gi-Oh edited already. It's great that they're bring out anime to the public but I think they only care about making a profit. The same voice actors had been use on most of their licensed anime. It would be better if Viz or ADV films got it instead. I mean, how the heck are they gonna translate those tanuki jokes?! Cotton balls?!

Oh for God's sake! Not this crap again...
Look, this is the entertainment industry. Of course 4Kids is doing it for the money. They provide a service, and service that is to entertain American audiences by bringing over an anime series to TV. Now, since this series will be broadcast on American television, it must be edited for American broadcast standards or it cannot be broadcast at all. Therefore, like it or not, this series will be edited, but as little as possible. Seeing as they have something is intense as TMNT under their belt (4Kids controls all the programming for FOX BOX), I'm sure it won't be as bad as you think. As for the dubbing, I think they have an excellent dubbing cast and have enjoyed the work of these voice actors in many other great anime series like Captain Tylor or KareKano or Now & Then/Here & There. They do first-rate work and I expect the same quality of dub for Shaman King.
You guys really need to stop bashing on something that hasn't even come out yet.

that, or they can just realise no matter how much they whine, it won't change the inevitable, and just move on. Hey they might even do bilingual uncut dvds. Not that i's likely, but how do you expect them to meet your "demands" if all you do is sit and whinge about it.

name one company (with the exceptio of NPO's, DUH) that isnt in the business to make a profit.

i disagree. CN has proved that anime can be on american television without being terribly hacked, converted into american culture etc etc

Yes but the unedited shows on Cartoon Network are shown in the very late evening, when edited standards are much more lax then at 8am-12pm on a Saturady morning.
It will be edited, but like stated above, with TMNT paving the way for more intense children's entertainment, hopefully we will see less edits in Anime in the future.

I doubt 4kids is gonna go lax on the editing for Shaman King. I've been reading the manga from Shonen Jump and watched the fansubbs and from what I've seen, 4kids is gonna hack the hell out of it.

Steventheeunuch: Ugh, I don't just sit around and 'whine'. I have been to 4Kids website and searched for a way to contact them but can't find anything. I've also signed petition against YGO edits but, as I guess it was rather useless since nothing has been changed, yet.
Fatal: Yes, there isn't one business out there that isn't out to make a profit. However, I think other companies care about making profits AND care about their customers and make the best out of their products. I used 'only' when I was referring to 4Kids.
Ferquin: It was not bashing but speculating, based on what 4Kids has done to YGO. If someone has a right to praise then I think I have a right to complaint. But I really hope I'm wrong about 4Kids because SK is just too cool to have something wrong w/ it.
Anyway, let me reply to make my original point more clear so people won't bash me. No, I don't think 4Kids is doing as great of a job as you said Zack. I believe they could improve the way they're handling edits a little better.

Shaman King is one of my favorite anime's, and I really don't want it treated the same way as Yu-Gi-Oh! Yeah, the dubbing will probably be good, but there's entire episodes in it that I highly doubt will make it on air, especially the first fight between Yoh and Faust. I just hope they don't change the relationship between Yoh and Anna.

Using my amazing psychic powers, I predict that Anna will mysteriously become Yoh's sister for the FoxBox audience.

Now, now, we all know she'll be his cousin.
On the subject of the quality of the dub...some VA's for Fox are better than others, as some VA's in *general* are better than others. The only reason I won't like the dub voices is because I love the Japanese cast of Shaman King, which isn't the same thing as thinking the American VA's are bad. (They still can't scream, though. Ogata-sama has ruined me for American screaming.)
That said, I'm happy that 4Kids brings over anime so I can get my cathartic crying, whining, and bitching over. Fortunately, I did that two months ago, so I won't here.
I will say, however, that anyone who says that Fox only cuts "as much as necessary" makes me laugh until I collapse into a giggling heap on the floor. I don't have a problem with cutting for television, but I *do* have a problem with Fox's tendency to do things that are unnecessary, such as changing names for no apparent reason. (I'm really hoping that they change "Anna" to "Keiko" or something so I can point and laugh.) I won't say that all series on television are horribly mangled, but on Fox they tend to be.
