I posted this in the Kanon 2006 thread in the General Discussion section but it seems none of the staff read it, so I'm putting it in here... Anyway, it's about the Trivia in Kanon 2006... The trivia contains a misleading fact about a reference to Suzumiya Haruhi. As we all know, Kanon 2006 is based on a game made by Key/Visual Arts and only few people have played the game so some might misunderstood what's been happening around the anime. I'm saying this because I want the Kanon trivia to be as accurate as it can be.
Anyway, here's the first one
I said before in the other thread that these are not really meant to be a reference, it just happens to be a real coincidence (like Kyon used to say in eps. 02). The game script goes exactly like this. ================================================================= 【声】「＊Ｂ君っ！」 廊下に戻ると、不意に背中に声がかかる。 【＊Ａ】「振り返ると、美坂香里が立っていた」 【香里】「なに状況説明してるのよ？ 【＊Ａ】「いや、別に ------- Translation -------- [Voice] "Aizawa-kun!" Someone called me from behind when I was about to go back at the corridor. [Yuiichi] "As I turn around, Misaka Kaori was standing there." [Kaori] "What are you narrating about?" [Yuiichi] "Nope, nothing at all." ================================================================= Like I said, these lines is exactly in the game. So that will make the above quote false. Now the second one...
Yet another one taken exactly from the game script. ================================================================= 【香里】「ここが昇降口」 【＊Ａ】「それぐらい知ってるって」 【香里】「知ってる割には思いっきり校舎裏で途方に暮れてたじゃない」 【＊Ａ】「ぐは…見てたのか…」 【香里】「不審な行動を取ってるから、てっきりどこかの秘密機関から密命を帯びてここに潜入したんじゃないかって思ったわよ」 【＊Ａ】「俺は普通の転校生だ」 【香里】「ちょっとがっかり」 -------- Translation --------- [Kaori] "This is the entrance." [Yuiichi] "I know that much." [Kaori] "Yet you still end up at the opposite side of the school, right?" [Yuiichi] "Geh... You were watching me...?" [Kaori] "I thought you were acting strange, as if you were sent by a certain secret organization to infiltrate this place and observe our mysterious lives." [Yuiichi] "I'm just an ordinary transfer student." [Kaori] "I'm a little disappointed." ================================================================= Like I said again, these lines is exactly in the game. So that will make the above quote false too. Both of the script are from Day 08 of the game. As a person who have some bit of knowledge about the game, I found this thought to be a reference, funny and not informative ~_~ To tell the truth, I was a little bothered about something that looks like a reference of Kanon from Suzumiya Haruhi... and I guess only few people has been bug by it... it's about that frog costume at Episode 09. It's around 2:23mins & 6:41mins & (ahh.. there's a plenty of it) of the show and you can see it at the center top of the screen and also around 5:30mins & 6:24mins (ah... there's a plenty of it too) at the bottom right of the screen and around 9:16mins, Haruhi finally showed it and 10:12mins, Mikuru is finally wearing it. Yup... I'm talking about that frog costume. Maybe I was reading too much into it but for a Kanon game fan, that frog was a bit unusual. As you can see, we all (most are those who know the game) know that Nayuki is spoiler[fond of her frog stuff toy (Keroppi)]. And as we all know, only few anime emphasizes this froggy thing (one is Kanon). And to top it all, KyoAni who made Suzumiya Haruhi is going to do a remake of Kanon that's more true to the game. And don't forget that Suzumiya Haruhi has lots and lots of reference to animes and things. So I thought to myself, this must be a reference! But as you can see, my hunch were wrong (or maybe not that entirely wrong). I search the net and found out that that froggy costume was really in the novel! My thought to be a reference went into smithereens... That's all... eh... anyway, please don't forget to do something about the Kanon reference. Oh goodness... I didn't imagine my post would be long ~_~, this will surely bore those who are reading
