We need more Osomatsu, this episode got me hooked again, I need my weekly dosage of Osomatsu.

I cannot fathom why it's taking them so long to do a second season. This was one of the most successful anime in years, and clearly the cast and staff are available if they could all reunite for what was essentially a horse infomercial. Maybe there's some sort of behind the scenes negotiation nonsense holding this thing up.

I think they simply messed up the follow-up to the successful anime. The show got a lot more popular than they expected, and they just didn't know how to react to that. They released a bunch of secondary materials, but those were underwhelming to say the least, and a lot of them weren't even overseen by the creative brains behind the show. (The fact that they asked fans to help with extra materials is kind of telling.)

Also, the director and I think other key staff members are tied down by other shows.

That's actually not true. The VA of Todomatsu is taking a break from voice acting, and I don't think they would recast him, given that one of the big reasons why it's so popular in Japan is the voice cast.
