Just saying, but this seems promising to GO players who have

>never gotten that much Legendary Pokemon
>resided in a city with a low player base, especially if it so happens to be a rural area
>been struggling to obtain TMs

The Special Research screenshot does specify "A Mythical Discovery," so it's likely the Special Research will be for Mew, the Field Research won't.
