Just a small correction: Masahiro actually isn't director anymore. As of Episode 14, Kastuya Asano is the main director, Kimiharu Muto is Assistant Director (as of Episode 32), and Tatsuo Sato is Supervising both.
As for the news itself, I'm really hoping that this new season lends some more visual variety to VRAINS as a whole. |

Why am I getting Sora vibes from Haru? But I'm excited about the new characters and liking their designs. Looking forward to seeing more AIs this season as well.
Apparently the Link VRAINS system gets an upgrade in Season 2, so they have an in-series explanation for improvement. Just have to hope they take advantage of it. |
