I can understand for the cheaper one, but why the hell does a $1500 ring have created sapphire? If you're already springing for diamonds, you might as well go all the way.

I get what you're saying, but often lab created sapphires are of better quality than natural ones, so if I had to choose between an expensive real one with flaws or a cheaper synthetic one without, I'd choose the latter.
