Wow the comments section for that Oda article were terrible. ‘Oh do we criticise Japan’s weird form of nationalism that was obviously the cause of the outrage or do we blame it on le social justice warriors that are definitely a real thing that exists?’

^I thought the joke was funny, and Westerner's hand wringing about whether "PC culture" would get One Piece cancelled thankfully had nothing to worry about (first of all, because the people who complained about the joke were right wing nationalists and second of all, because it would take a lot more than a joke to threaten One Piece).
