Awesome news! Loved the first TV series but it obviously needed a sequel badly. Hopefully we'll get a full adaptation this time

Full adaptation? you better hope its like 90 episodes. anything less would be cutting corners.

I truly hope that one of these 4 studios get the adaptation:

1) Bones
2) David Productions
3) Wit Studios
4) Ufotable

So that´s why were are getting the sequel manga. Good news on both fronts. The manga is worthy of a longer form anime (the life action film is pretty solid btw.) and a 100 years later sequel manga is pretty much it´s own thing and thus welcome. Even if it´s another Bakumatsu story.

I think the old anime holds up. They could just continue where it left off. Could just have some starting episodes quickly recap the old stuff.
