Awesome news! Loved the first TV series but it obviously needed a sequel badly. Hopefully we'll get a full adaptation this time

Full adaptation? you better hope its like 90 episodes. anything less would be cutting corners.

1) Bones
2) David Productions
3) Wit Studios
4) Ufotable

So that´s why were are getting the sequel manga. Good news on both fronts. The manga is worthy of a longer form anime (the life action film is pretty solid btw.) and a 100 years later sequel manga is pretty much it´s own thing and thus welcome. Even if it´s another Bakumatsu story.

I think the old anime holds up. They could just continue where it left off. Could just have some starting episodes quickly recap the old stuff.
