I think most people, judging from a brief look at wedding ring prices at a few jewelry stores. And that's for only one ring.

I’m coming back from a wedding as I read this. Good thing the only anime I think the bride and groom are vaguely familiar with is Sailor Moon.

Two non-obvious factors:
+ japanese text requires a larger minimum size, acct complexity of kanji and related reasons. There are fewer glyphs so the space taken up is about the same (although I've been told that english is one of the more compact languages written) but the nature of a ring is that it's kinda one-dimensional.
+ roman-letter stamping is cheaper and simpler than any other script because of higher demand for the tools.
