Sweet, finally. I wish there had been some theatrical screenings outside of that one event as I definitely would have made it to an LA theater for that, but I'm happy just to see this is a thing that is happening.
Since there are like two(?) seasons of the TV anime that have gone without a physical release, I hope this does well enough to maybe possibly put the chance out there that Aniplex could make that happen.
(Also Aniplex dear while we're on this subject)
(Where is that Mushishi movie)
(Stop withholding my faves)
(please)

I still wish Aniplex released the Mushishi series on bluray. It's really disappointing they licensed the second season and the movie but never released them. It's one of the titles I'd have no issue buying day one.

Same. And now or in the nearer future would be a perfect time to do it with that Uzumaki adaptation from the same director on the horizon. They could do some cross promotion and ride the buzz.
It's just an odd thing to effectively bury a show that was so critically acclaimed and has a dedicated following (same with Natsume's Book of Friends), but from what I understand Aniplex is kind of erratic with what it releases and how, so all we can do is shame them for being cowards I mean sit tight and have patience.
