So, is this an early end to the school year? Which also means, no homework over the break, as this is a different kind of break?
And kids may be doing less part time work, out of exposure concerns.
So I can see how it could be an excuse for a monster gaming and anime and manga marathon. Hmmm... could be an anime plot in this.
I hope they don't take days out of the summer break to make up for this. In the US, fears of snow days forcing school to go on past the normal end date were a thing when I was a kid in the '70s.
Not to make light of the medical situation, of course.

Kids still have work to do. Some wards have sent home homework packages and asked parents to attempt teaching the material to kids and grade them as well. (and, naturally, parents are not happy about this at all)
