I wasn't sure what exactly the difference was between a book based on a fantasy dungeoncrawling RPG video game and a book based on a fantasy dungeoncrawling RPG tabletop game, and it sounds like the answer is indeed "not much." Take out the means of interactivity and there's no difference remaining. And these stories usually already have something analogous to domain management, since just watching imaginary people grind through dungeons would get pretty boring, and the video games they're based on often have (literal) farming or player housing or whatever for the same reason.

This was a major concern for me as well. Without the interactive component and with minimal emphasis on the unique angle of domain management, it can feel like just another fantasy story. That being said, I think there's potential here - not least of which because it does not fall into some of the more common isekai tropes that are popular now. Time will tell if they move further away from the traditional survival/dungeon-crawling stuff and more into the bigger scope it's clearly capable of supporting.

I really don't care about all those details or arguments. As long as it tells a good story and catches my interest, it is all good for me. So far this first volume has done that. I want to know more, so I will be continuing this series.
