An extremely interesting article and absolutely super to hear from our "anime brethren" in India! So many fans have had similar experiences before there were or after finding anime fan communities, it's all very relatable even from half a world away. Wishing you all the best for the future!!

Great article! Thank you for putting together the information and the history behind the fandom.
Perspectives like this help everyone gauge their own anime community. I still remember Makoto Shinkai responding publicly on his Twitter to the India fans about their petition to bring his films to India legally when he is already scheduled to tour Moscow and Paris to promote his films. It really shows that in some places, you have FIGHT to get legal anime. If you don't fight for it, it will not happen.
