Sucks for those that played it but honestly not surprised. Never seemed to have much staying power even when all branches were in it. People I know largely stopped playing after a month or two of release.

Puzzle games are an oversaturated genre in the gacha space, also a lot of the popular characters are missing from this or came so much later, I didn't even know Arisu was added until months after I quit playing.

I think the monetization strategy early on was a huge turn-off and many Producers stopped caring. The cast lineup actually was good as many popular characters got added in the first year. But it's a mixed blessing to see your tantou idol in the game with no sure way to get them from the gacha (maybe other than resemara). The puzzle game aspect was fine, but it also didn't have much in terms of original content, which probably is the real cause of death.

As someone who only plays Deresute and Mirishita for mobile games, I didn't see any reason to add this one, and I guess a lot of fellow iM@S fans thought so too. Part of it was, as I mentioned earlier, not wanting to commit to a game that might not have lasted long either way, but I think a lot of people passed on it solely because it was a puzzle game, and it didn't even have all the characters. They never even added Nao Kamiya, who is my favorite in Cinderella Girls.
Heck, this isn't even the first time a big idol franchise has done a TsumTsum clone. Love Live! had Puchiguru, which lasted about as long as this game did. And I feel like that game was liked better by the people who played it.
