I read volume 16 not too long ago. If the volumes after that have the same pacing and size, I'm not surprised. It was definitely getting close to its end. I just hope that Ginko doesn't die. I don't want the author to do some weird loli ending.

I've been meaning to catch up on this. It truly is an amazing series.
I hope Bookwalker releases volume 17 soon.

I'd love nothing more than to see more seasons of the anime, but sadly it seems the staff of the series ended up finding more success in the Bottom Chara Tomozaki series, so they've been too busy working on that and other projects in recent years... The potential for a Ryuo sequel kinda faded away in the midst of it. :/
(Yes, I know the publisher could force a greenlight anyway and get a different staff, but that specific team really brought out the charm of the Ryuo anime, so personally I'd be sad to see them go...)
