true that. I love the original OP so much. It's hard to describe but when I listen to it I feel like I'm being invited on a long journey and sucked into it

If you are talking about popularity, then I think you are really underestimating the power of social media, and just how fast things can get big thanks to the Internet, and, to be honest, recency bias.
I am currently rewatching the first season, really love the opening song, but I completely forgot about it over the years since I first watched it.
