The anime industry has always had a tendency to chase trends until the horse isn't just beaten, it's basically horse-mush. We've seen it with mech (Brain Powerd and Gasaraki anyone?). The 90's were the days of magical girls, full stop. And Love Hina opened the gates to truly, truly countless harem slop.
...And yet nothing, NOTHING, has been quite as creatively bankrupt as the isekai rage of today. At this point, I'm seriously starting to believe that even AI would have more imagination and originality.

With a title like that, the fact that this isn’t about an ugly salaryman or high schooler in underground MMA fights and the weird reactions he gets from crowds and people he knows, not to mention the phenomenon of people who view themselves as undesirable getting into weight lifting or combat sports to deal with their perceived ugliness is a massive missed opportunity.
Actually I think I came up with a better story premise than another isekai.

Reincarnated as a hentai villain is an old (if underutilized) premise in isekai, as it has been around even before the genre room off, since remonster existed.
Isekai NTR is definitely the better of the bunch, as it has several factors that make it interesting, mc reincarnates as gyarou, instead of ojisan. His memories from his past life inform him, but don't completely over take the personality and life experiences he has had for 17-19 years. He is shown to have had a pretty shitty childhood, which helps humanize him. It also shows that the"nice guys" are not necessarily good persons, neither are sexual persons inherently evil.

I am worried that this property is mostly centered around gross out factor. Since culturally a lot of Japanese find over weight and bad skin characters revolting. That would leave mostly the path of the main character pushing on the expectation of him being disgusting.
I hope I am wrong. Its just I have only seen an overweight character be treated as human once in 25 years of fandom. (outside of sexual fetishes). Most of the friendlier cases of obese characters result in a kind of cultural sense of: "Of course they are failing and being neglected by society, they failed to look after themselves and be a proper productive Japanese person". Or the "not actually obese" characters like Sakamoto Days and Kiss Him, Not Me.

So an ugly guy with practical skills becomes isekai'd in a world were he's ugly with practical skills?
Wouldn't it make more sense if he was hot but useless pre-reincarnation?

No good. That sounds just a little too uncomfortably interesting and unique.
