After seeing what happened to Tai Chi Chaser and that dub that supposed to not happen, this is what happened when actors have warned many times about the danger use of AI being used to clone and replicate their voices. I mean we had a strike/protest by Hollywood actors for over that reason. Even Jennifer Hale also talked about it last year. And now that fear has sort of come true and Tai Chi Chaser using AI for dubbing the last part of the episodes which never had one previously kind of confirmed that. I'm also scared how deepfake will make video and audio recording look too real to the point where it looks 100% authentic and make it hard to tell which video (including historical one) is authentic and which is not authentic.

Oh yeah, I checked, and you're right. It wasn't even shown on Fox Kids, it was shown on CW4Kids in 2011-2012. Fox Kids wasn't no longer called Fox Kids by then.

Meanwhile! Fox, Tubi's corporate parent, is busy streaming content that has not been properly verified.

I shouldn't find this funny... but I remember the days when Fox were so quick with the copyright strikes that some Quake or Half-Life mod getting taken down for copyright reasons was widely referred to as "Foxing". How things come around...

Speak for yourself. The fun, over-the-top, cartoon crime drama retrospective style this article was written in is the perfect way to deliver the absurdity of this story. Anime hyper

Just think, if they can get away with it, one day English cast announcements will be no more, just credits for AI technicians. Because CR, Sentai, Netflix etc, would all do it if they could.

Just a quick correction: Despite the scripts being written in Japanese, the series never seemingly received a Japanese version, as it both never aired in Japan (unclear as to why) and seemingly Toei Animation never seemingly recorded a Japanese version for internal use. When 4Kids Entertainment aired the episodes on their CW block, the credits even credit the Korean voice cast, which suggests not even a Japanese version exists internally.

I'll note this is a little unusual as International co-productions by that point usually recorded a Japanese version, even if it was never used outside of dubbing purposes. In the past this wasn't the case always. Scan2Go was one of those cases, which was only a few years after Tai Chi Chasers, though the Taiwanese R3 DVD release DID include not only the internal Japanese version, but also full Japanese credits. So at least that made it out there to some degree. Still has yet to see a local release in Japan.

I thought it was fun too!

If only we could get gumshoe style investigative reports for other anime ‘scandals’.

This is a double negative and not only wasnt Fox Kids, Fox Kids by then, It wasnt (Repeat of the previous statement, no double negative) Fox Kids by 2002, it was Fox Box, Then 4kidsTV then some EI Content Block. It never aired Tai Chi Chasers because it aired on The CW's cartoon block, which itself had many names.

Loved the film noir detective bit, gave me a good laugh. Crazy story, though... but maybe not surprising given the messed up times we live in.

The fact that the idiot who started this whole brouhaha actually had the gall to post on ANN and justify his attempts at butchering Tai Chi Chasers only makes it funnier. The guy's such an entitled prick and is convinced he's doing God's work when he's really doing anything but.

Uhhh, yeah, I'm a bit confused here. Could you break it down in a way I can understand? From what I read on Wikipedia, Tai Chi Chasers was shown on Toonzai (what the CW4Kids was later called) from 2011 to 2012. So what did I do wrong here?

On the one hand, the noir detective narration is the most interesting angle this generation of Answerman has taken yet. On the other, too many similes.
