Man, we’ve lost so many talented people this year. Toki was absolutely my favourite role of his, and Slayer’s lost both of his voice actors now. RIP to a legend.

I wonder if there will be an article about the anime industry paying a great tribute to him.

Rest in peace. He was super active even this year.
My favourite role was Toki in Fist of the North Star.

First Kisame, followed by Konan, and now Kakuzu’s performer is gone. RIP, Hashi-san.

he's also Dr. Doom in the upcoming Marvel Tokkon fighting game. i wonder if he recorded enough or they will have to recast him for the final release...
Now Akira Kamiya is one of the very few main VAs from Fist of The North Star that are still alive...

I loved Inuarashi but his death was truly driven home by the fact he played Dr Traum in Hugtto Precure. One of the most iconic Precure villains in the most iconic season.

It feels like we're losing a new legend every week...but Takaya Hashi-san's body of work and all the memorable characters he portrayed will continue to stand the test of time.
RIP Takaya Hashi-san. Thank you for all the wonderful vocal performances you delivered.

Wikipedia says he was born September 8, not January 8, 1952. If the latter is true, then he was 73.

Another Conan VA, and James Black's second Japanese VA after Iemasa Kayumi died in 2014... and it still feels like not much time has passed since Atsuko Tanaka (Mary Sera) died.

Yes. He usually was typecast as villains, but he was just so good in that one heroic role.
He enjoyed dubbing Alan Rickman a lot, to the delight of Japanese audiences. Maybe they're together somewhere now.
