I was hoping this was 2025 when they announced this last December but 2026 is fine. I just hope CR or any of the major anime streaming services picks this up in the West. I can't even watch the original series legally on any streaming service in the West.

If all those Nanoha blu-rays is any indication, this will land on HI-DIVE.

Looks like the latter to me. Took a quick look at the manga tie-in sample pages, and I did not see any connections to the previous TV seasons.

There are connections, Nanoha is 13 here. So this is set after As and before StrikerS. In movie terms, this would also be after the 3rd and 4th movies

Going by the manga, it seems to be taking place in the movie continuity, so it's a sequel to Reflection/Detonation.

The only "alternate continuation" here are the first two movies. Neither Movies 3-4, not this season (judging by what we got so far) contradict with the main timeline.
It is not something like OG Gears of Destiny games rthay based the last movies on or InnocentS manga.
So unless proofed ovberwise with actual show I will just mark it as season 2.5.

It's readily available on blu-ray. Please buy it if you wanna watch it.
Not everything needs to be streaming these days...

And that is a problem. The "middle school girl show for adult male otaku" thing was huge in the 2000s but international streaming killed it off. The movies that this show is a sequel to come out in 2012. I don't know who the market for this show would be. Someone mentioned Hi-Dive as picking this up, I guess because of that infamous magical girl show that aired on it not so long ago, but that show was very different from Nanoha. It took the subtext used to popularize shows like that with their adult male audience, ramped it up to 11 and made it text for comedic parody deconstruction purposes. This would both require not only depicting the fantasies that we all knew the target demo were having about the middle school girls explicitly on screen but taking said fantasies seriously instead of parodying (mocking) them. Kind of reminds me of the hyper - go ahead and call it toxic if you want to - macho action and thriller movies of the 1970s and 1980s. If that sells in this day and age it would be a surprise and not a good one.

Discotek has been able to release all seasons and movies in disc (except Vivid because being made by A1 meant Aniplex had rights and Aniplex didn't want to allow Discotek to license it). That means they kept selling well enough to keep licensing the show. Also MahoAko was no mockery. It was a comedy, but made from a place of love by perverts for perverts. Nanoha has never had any such scenes anyways outside of bath or hot spring scenes. Or the transformations. But otherwise, it's quite tame, so I don't know what you fear

Nanoha Detonation came out in 2018. It's not that old.
Also, the target audience for this series would be... fans of Lyrical Nanoha. It's not that complicated.

Discotek doesn't license new anime like that, the only times they picked up anything recent was when they had special deals (see their old deal with Crunchyroll that got them stuff like the early seasons of Free, Kemono Friends & Konosuba and also the City Hunter package deal with Sunrise that got them Shinjuku Private Eyes). This is either going to one of the current streamers like Amazon again or none at all like ViVid ended up.

The Movies 1st & A's were made by Seven Arcs yet they couldn't license those because Aniplex was also involved with them.
