Alternate scenario idea is so cool
Hope they eventually do Danganronpa 1 Remake as well. Would've love an alternate scenario for that too |

Update. Kodaka is listed as a supervisor, and that he is doing some writing for the game so he is at the very least getting paid to put his name on the game.
......I mean I do want to see the work the new team puts into the game, it does actually look interesting. That said rebooting the franchise with the game in the series that is by far the most popular and adding an "alternative timeline?" To it after the original team that management faught tooth and nail against when making this game and the previous one and only carried about when the series became internationally popular..... that is a choice... Especially when the original team ended the series with a possible reading of the text being. LET THIS SERIES DIE ALREADY. Just when the Game Grumps thought they were done with the series.
This along with Fire Emblem were the highlights of the direct for me. I sadly have concerns for Metroid Prime 4. |

Personally I'm definitely inclined to think this is actually going to be a stealth sequel, between the title potentially being read as 2 Times 2 (and the X isn't just filler in this case, they pronounce it as "by" in the Japanese trailer too), and the fact that spoiler[it would make sense in-universe for them to be remaking 2 as an attempt to revive the franchise.]

That is absolutely what I am very worried about when looking at this. Now if they actually were going to do this they would take all the characters minus teru teru who never got a proper spot light. Like for example imposter, peko peko yama, kazuhichi, akane and nekamaru, Sonia nevermind, absolutely Mahiru Koizumi, Hiyoko Saiyonji, Mikan Tsumiki, Ibuki Mioda and gundham tanaka Characters they should absolutely sideline and reduce but never would be allowed to Junko enoshima, she has died many times now to point of it being a major joke. Let her STAY dead! No spiritual successor, no ai junior, no copy cat. Chiaki, komeda, and hajime or spoiler all need to be focused on less. Seriously they have had their time in the spotlight, and unless they really show a very different side to both of them I really want them to focus on the others. I'm not really expecting them to, because they'll get more money that way, but it's not totally new:
It's an "enhanced" port with new content. They definitely could do something for those who already own it. |

That's poor wording on the part of this specific article. Danganronpa 2x2 does include the original Danganronpa 2 storyline in it, but it's all recreated with the new assets and game system. This is a full remake, not a port. That's what I meant when I said it's "totally new". 
Of course the main appeal will be the new scenario, which the website is saying is just lengthy as the original story. That kind of stuff goes far beyond the scope of any potential "enhancement patch". |
