I'm happy to know it's still good.
Once in a while I end up wondering how Gen Urobuchi is doing nowadays and then I'll suddenly remember that Thunderbolt Fantasy is still ongoing.

I thought it was finished after the movie? It seemed like they wrapped things up pretty well, iirc. But yes, it was still going strong right through to the finish, with some jaw-dropping twists and revelations.
I'm still wondering why this review came out now, when Season 3 was out 4 years ago.

Very very slim chance for US Blurays but come on already. Was unaware of this new season. Will have to be made fun of by my kids again for watching my "doll show".

Just realized you're right. No wonder I got confused.
The series ended with a movie earlier this year.
Still appreciate the review though.

Seems like by the time season 3 came out all of the people who covered S1&2 and early movies has stopped working with ANN, so maybe there just wasn't any available reviewer familiar with the series. It being dumped on Crunchyroll several months after airing on TV instead of weekly releases also didn't help.
Anyway, glad to see it covered, hope S4 and the final movie reviews will come soon. While Thunderbolt Fantasy absolutely rules, I think it never truly matched first two seasons. They were just so tightly written, with little to none unnecessary meandering. Here though, entire second act of the season is a bit of drag. We just got too many characters doing their things separately from each other. Also we spend way too many time in the Void Junction, which looks kinda lame compared to to more varied an lush environments of previous seasons.
But season starts and ends on a strong note, which makes it perfect for binging. I enjoyed it way more on a rewatch, when refreshing my memory before fourth season.
