I, for one, am just waiting for the inevitable ultimate/royale/all DLC included version of Persona 3 Reload. I know Atlas said they aren't doing a Royale version...but c'mon...does anyone seriously believe that? They are gonna to do some rerelease either in 2026 or 2027. Even if it is just all the DLC+ some QOL updates.

At this point you could get the base game + Episode Aigis for cheaper than your proposed minorly updated edition that will "inevitably" happen any day now lmao
Between this and people saying that surely Metaphor Rerefantazio was going to be announced on the anniversary livestream, I think people have let their paranoia deprive them of just getting and enjoying games. And at this point I do have to describe it as paranoia, since on top of Sega just directly saying they're not interested in that model going forward, with Persona 4 Revival already announced (and P6 somewhere on the horizon) it doesn't even make financial sense to release an updated version of P3R on top of it

I have zero interest in this remake to begin with but I doubt they'll ever do a enhanced re-release of this outside the usual GOTY edition where the DLC comes with it. And if they do there's a good chance it'll be something you don't want like what they're doing with Yakuza 0's "enhanced" edition given how modern SEGA operates.

What one wants and doesn’t want is subjective and as it is most of the people complaining about Updated release of Yakuza 0 are mostly people who played the game when it came out originally (or eventually) on the PS4 everyone else could care less about the changes the newer version made.

I tried and failed to get into the game on the Xbox, but wound up deciding to pick up the Switch 2 version and wound up going all the way through it, finished a couple of weeks ago.
On the whole it's kind of a game I definitely liked but have a hard time seeing myself wanting to play again any time soon. Not entirely ruling it out, but they really should've just picked one between making it a faithful remake and trying to modernize it because a lot of aspects of it feel very dated compared to 5 and the comparative lack of plot advancement really makes the game drag at points. By the time I was done with it I was extremely ready to be done with it while when I've done runthroughs of 5 by the end I've wished there was still more of it, and I think that's kind of an issue particularly given 3's substantially shorter.

Personally, I'm super excited for Persona 4 Revival. P4G (Golden) still feels new to me!

I don't think there's any room for that with P3 Reload. If you buy the game and the Episode Aigis DLC, you've got everything that was in P3 FES, plus a boatload of other content. They've made clear the female MC isn't coming back. There aren't really any little dangling "hooks" that suggest further content to come, like the unused doors and club-rooms in the initial releases of Persona 3-5.

I'd say the most headtilting thing is just that when they added the OG P3 music a few months back they didn't put in Wiping All Out, but that could just be Atlus being weird.

There's a pretty solid mod for getting a lot of the missing P3 Portable content added back in. It's worth giving a look.

Surprised to see this review suddenly pop up so long after the game came out...but hey, more Persona 3 love!
A part of me still was bummed that they completely changed the cast even if the remake cast did an amazing job.
