Only 1 chapter from the next batch is fully finished, so don´t wait for further releases in 2026. A 2027 return with another 10 is very likely.
Gon was last seen in 2014 and Killua made it on a single panel in 2016, where Kurapika remembers a recent phone conversation. The Twin Towers were still standing when Kurapika last interacted with Gon in the summer of 2001. I began reading the series in 2000, so I got to ride out the hiatus here or with Berserk. When will X, Vagabond or Nana return... Lol. See, HXH´s semi-improving (?) schedule suddenly looks like a dream!

He just needs to end the manga at this point or have someone else draw it. It’s obviously too taxing on his body.

At least now the people on Reddit will stop making posts speculating when it will come back for now.

When the last break occurred it was stated that they were supposed to be working with him to create a schedule that works out better for him. I have no idea what came of that since it was still a long break, and it seems like it's going to come out weekly just like it did the past 10 times.

Lately there has been a lot of build up involving Chrollo but having another fight with Hisoka feels weird. Kurapika fighting seems weird considering I think Togashi only gave him Uvog and then everything turned into ambushes involving Kurapika finding ways to take Chrollo's hatsu but I can't see him winning on a normal fight.

Always interesting how these extended breaks magnify Togashi's tendencies as a writer, namely how he gets bored easily and wants to move on to something else. Hence how we can get a batch dominated by a Morena sidequest to show off a cool new game

The king is back.
No matter what, Hunter x Hunter returning will always be exciting for me.

Is there a law that this has to be weekly? This should be moved to a monthly magazine and we won't have these problems.

Low effort trash is just easier to write and throw together. The problem is that people with low standards for trash like to read it and make it successful.

Moving it to monthly wouldn't change the situation much. The last time it went on hiatus he still had several chapters that he had made significant progress on. The issue is that he genuinely cannot sit for long periods of time to do the work, and he does not seem to want other people to do the art (which is what requires the long periods of sitting).
If it was someone else doing the art, and he was just handling the story (like with Blue Lock, One Punch Man, and Promised Neverland) it wouldn't matter if it was weekly or monthly and it'd come out at a regular pace. That's not what he wants though considering it has been like this for over a decade. When Tokyo Ghoul ended and its author did a one-shot for Hunter x Hunter I was thinking he could just do the art, but nothing changed.

I feel the same way! I've followed this manga for more than 10 years, and man I hope the upcoming chapters will keep on going. Crossing fingers for no hiatus!

Yeah, Gon and Killua are the two protagonists but it feels they got their arcs finished and need a change. Gon only wanted to meet his father but the evolution felt unearned as a result of all the chaos in the Chimera arc and how he downright told Ging he should have died instead. Killua felt he was dependent on Gon despite the two treasuring each other and decided to focus on Alluka's wellbeing when confronting his family. Gon also lost his nen which is making me wonder if Togashi plans to reboot him or give him another way of life kinda like Musashi Miyamoto spends his life in Vagabond after becoming unable to fight.

Well, Togashi does have three possible endings for HxH. I'm not sure about the ending A, B, and C, but if he revives the ending D, he might need Gon to have nen again.
What I'm more keen on is for Killua to come back.
