Ep1 was was completely fine. Its adequately executing what it is. Its extremely generic; do you want a show with a hypercapable, villainess-style lead who is on an obsessive, amoral quest for vengeance? That is also the answer to if you want to watch this show.
The advantage over its male-led comparable shows is that (I hope) the vengeance is less likely to end up being sexualised. The show makes a nominal effort to show why some of the wider cast behaved stupidly beyond the standard broken engagement, and the paperwork ect suggests some of the action may be in the faux-kingdom building style. I can't really commend it but I may watch it. |

Sign me up for some ice-cold kingdom-wide revenge, the more amoral the merrier, let's go full Count of Monte Cristo. Anyway, the setup here is a bit clumsy -- absolutist monarchy and all that, but attitude of the king and the chancellor were not really rational at all, even if we can stomach that the prince is an idiot and still bestowed with political power to jail his fiancee without trouble arising. It's also very convenient the MC is some sort of master of magic, and has easy access to tools of revenge. So not really expecting a literary classic here, even if the start is somewhat better than several other shows of this type.

I did think it was a bit too of a generic start, but exactly those traits that have a little bit interested. Frankly, although likely without the megalomania, she sounds a bit like a gender bent version of one of my favourite characters in fiction. A confident and hyper capable master of magic, politics, business, and hell bent on getting revenge on who they see as wronged them that she would destroy them utterly. I just need something like her being a master of science (although she already made a clone with magic), speak in the third person, and take over the kingdom herself, and she would be perfect. |

I've read the above opinions and get both sides - this one's a weird call to make.
The problem as I see it is the scope of the thing. If this is/was an anime primarily about the MC getting revenge on the Royal Family and her own family, I wouldn't have any qualms. I'm a Dexter fan, incidentally. But setting out to destroy an entire kingdom because the public is doing what the public does and turning on a famous figure because mobs love tearing down the people they set up on pedestals is a bit different. A kingdom is also full of children, elderly, kind people just quietly going about their lives and trying to ignore politics as much as possible, etc. So I guess what I'm saying is, exactly what kind of revenge goes into toppling an entire kingdom? Are large slaughtering armies going to wind up invading the borders? Are the common people who mocked the MC and their children going to wind up being sold into slavery? This is a work of fiction, and that is a factor. And even hypothetically, not knowing anything about the nature of this enemy empire is another factor. It might be better for a kingdom being led by the people we've seen to be absorbed into a more stable system of government. It may be that the MC's efforts are the only thing that have allowed a corrupt kingdom to get away with matters for so long. Long-winded way of saying I'll give this one a chance but with reservations. |

I don't know, but my presumption is that while she was wronged her own vengeance isn't really morally justified (honestly, it's generally not). An anti villain piece, essentially- which I'm happy to be entertained by but if moral righteousness is key to the fantasy buy in for someone - my guess would be this may not deliver.
