Why is there no thread or announcement for this yet? Or is there one and I just mangaged to miss it somehow? D= Either way...
As some Tsubasa fans may or may not know, the tv anime Tsubasa Chronicle was cancelled for various reasons. In it's place, we have a series of three 25 minute long OVAs entitled Tokyo REVELATIONS that'll cover the Acid Tokyo arc of the manga (which starts in volume 14, ends in 18.)
The OVAs will be handled by Production I.G, the parent company of BeeTrain, who did the xxxHOLiC movie and tv series, as well as the Tsubasa movie. Cast will be the same, and no word yet on the cast list for new characters (Kamui, Subaru, Fuuma, etc.) The script was written by CLAMP's very own Ohkawa, so it will stay much truer to the manga than the tv series.
The OVAs really aren't aimed at the fans of the anime as it replaces the second half of the second season, picking up at the end of Lecourt instead of after the Chaos arc. On top of that, the only way you can buy it until it's licensed by FUNimation (and who knows when that will be) is to buy volumes 21 - 23 of the manga.
Anyone out there wish to discuss the oncoming awesomeness of these OVAs and would like to e-mail FUNimation immediately and beg them to license them and release them ASAP? =D
