Well, I guess this is guilty anime confession day. What are some anime that you really enjoy watching, but you know that they just aren't that great of a series? You're just strangely addicted to watching the darn thing!

For me, I would have to say there are 3:
Sailor Moon
Yu-Gi-Oh
InuYasha

First up...Sailor Moon. Allright...this series can be downright annoying, but I still like it. How much more generic can you get? Wimpy, whiny heroine...with wimpy, whiny love of her life...combined with team of wimpy, whiny girls...all out to fight the forces of evil. I will always love Sailor Moon. It's what started the whole anime thing for me. SM has a HUGE fan base, and I'm right there in it, but stand it up against other shows, and it pales in comparison. But, I would sit and watch a SM marathon anyday.

Yu-Gi-Oh.....MY OH MY!!! Can it get any worse you ask? Oh yes...not only do I enjoy watching YGO...I enjoy watching the DUBBED version of it!! HA HA!! I love everything about the show. The redundancy...the lack of plot...the corny scenarios. LOVE IT! Yami Yugi's voice combined with his cheesy speeches of "right prevailing over wrong" just make it all that much more.... I'm serious, ask my friends. I love Yu-Gi-Oh. It's just that fun to watch.

Lastly.....ahhhhhhhh InuYasha. Fan girls everywhere are plotting my demise for saying anything bad about their beloved InuYasha. I love it too. I really do. I am a Sesshomaru lover...and I want Kagome and Inu to be together forever. I'm right there with everyone. I love the artwork, the cliche story, the predictable storyline. However, it is a really long series, it's not taking any deep, long plot detours and is fluff at it's best. Hopefully, we will get a satisfying ending that won't leave us hanging and wondering..."Why did I sit through those 100+ episodes, again?"

So, there are my guilty anime pleasures. What are yours? Go ahead, share! You'll feel a lot better once you admit you're a closet Yu-Gi-Oh fan...Smile

Wait a sec... I watch all those shows and those aren't even going to be the ones I list! Wink

For me, it's gotta be Berserk and GTO.

Berserk was so bloody and gory and then that ending... Well, it's nothing my tender eyes should have been watching. I watched it all anyway.... cause I liked it.

GTO has grown so much on me! I thought the sexual content was a little too much but.... It's changed a lot though. It's definitely lighter than at the beginning.

Just in case your wondering, I get called a prude by all my friends....and then they ask to borrow my Inuyasha and Sailor Moon.

I feel kind of guilty about watching and enjoying Card Captor Sakura as much as I do... and then there's the manga, art books, cds... bleah.

Being Catholic, I guess I should feel guilty for all the hentai I watch as well, but I don't....

Yu-gi-oh. I can't help it, but I like that show. Damn, even the duels get me excited, although I pretty much know the outcome and all that corny talk about friendship blah blah blah. I even have Yugioh shirts and the cards. Oh god.

I can never get embarrassed about Inuyasha because I think it's a great show and I just flat out love watching it. Anime exclamation

I used to be a big fan of DBZ back in my adolescent years, and could talk about that damn show all day long with my friends. I can say that I still have that DBZ poster hanging on my wall. Embarassed Glad I got over that though. Mad

I kinda liked CCS when it came out, and I guess I still do even though I don't watch it anymore.

Don't even get me started with Pokemon...
It never happened! Anime smile + sweatdrop

Devilman Lady. Okay, it's essentially Devilman (one of Go Nagai's less decent creations) as a woman, right? So why is it so sodding interesting!? I'm actually shocked I like it.

Rurouni Kenshin: Seishouhen. A lot of die-hard Kenshin fans admonish it for wrecking the happy ending Watsuki created, as well as taking some cast members way out of character (namely Kenshin), but I still enjoyed it (shed a tear or three at the AWA screening).

Excel Saga, because everyone says "it gets dull," but I still enjoy it.

Sometimes ANN makes me feel like Azumanga Daioh is the guiltiest of pleasures, even though I don't match what some staff members have stereotyped the fans as...

And generally any ancient dub (G-Force, Voltron, Robotech, and especially Speed Racer). C'mon, you KNOW you love them, too! Wink

I cried so much on that OVA! Anime cry But I actually did enjoy it, despite the ending. Very dramatic!

Well, it had to come out some time...

I've been watching Pokemon from like...jump. Even saw the first movie in the theater. It started in my freshman year of highschool, I think. Me and on of my boys used to catch it every morning while we..."got in the mindset" for school. Still watch it occasionally. It's cheesy, it's stupid and it's horrifyingly cute, but I watch it.

I still watch DBZ like a rabid anime n00b too. I gotta get my overpowered fighting fix, man.

I also rather liked Digimon. Don't ask me why, but I'd find myself watching it despite myself.

*Breaths* You're right Lian...I do feel better. Let the ridicule commence!!

Hmmm...AKIRA, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, the X Motion Picture, Spriggan, Armitage III: Polymatrix, Blood: The Last Vampire, and both endings to Evangelion. Basically, the opinions on those vary SO widely from person to person, that those would all be guilty pleasures depending on the person you spoke to (I guess Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade could fit in there, too, but I've heard far more praise than criticism, even if that criticism was rather vicious).

OH! And I never realized that Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory was such a terrible, terrible, grievous, evil, sinister, malicious, bad, bad, awful sin until posting here. Wink Okay, I'm exaggerating, but still...

I still love it, though.

Well, to hear a lot of people talk, I shouldn't be the rabid Tenchi OAV fan that I am. Oh yes, they blame Tenchi for the harem genre explosion and they blame Tenchi for the mass movement towards ever building bust sizes and ever increasing ways to fondle said increasing bust sizes.

But you know what? They're wrong! The OAV's had heart and soul, they were skillfully wrought with a gentle underlying theme of family that few anime romances dare to touch on. The cast isn't a mass grouping of stereotypes, but are a finely detailed group of individuals with subtle emotions and brilliantly composed thought processes. There's always more to the OAV cast than what you're seeing.

Tenchi Muyo; Ryo-Ohki 1, 2, and now 3 should be recognized as classics amongst modern anime, pioneering series that set the high-water mark for a genre that hasn't been matched by any of the new pretenders to the crown.

Now, if you excuse me, I'm awaiting delivery of my copy of the Mihoshi-centric doujinshi 88cm.

OK guys........ please restrain yourselves from throwing stones at me........

...Dragon Ball
OK I know that its terrible but I still enjoy it Sad I know I know.... no words are needed. Maybes its because it was my first serious anime? (as in I seriously got into anime itself)... I even got all 42 v. of the manga..

Bastard
Well - I really liked the manga. But the anime is little.. well un-naturalistic. Schneider is basically immortal there and every damn time he comes back to life in some far fetched way... but I like the anime Sad I dont know why.... maybe I just like some simple minded ass kicking?

Final Fantasy Unlimited
I know it sucks! But I like Kaze and his Demon Gun. And the ending is GOOD!

the last few episodes of Hellsing
the ones with Incognito....
I am a huge fan of Hellsing itself but the ending..... I know now its not very good but I still enjoy it.

Saint Seiya
OK... I can agree that on some levels it can be little... childish. Or something else... but I like it and enjoy it and probably wont change my mind in the near future.

you think the 4th ep of tenchi is bad. I was watching vol.7 of X with Karen and her outfits when my mom decided to come in.
I was sweating from what she would say but she didn't say anything.

right in the middle of the scene when she was talking suggestion towards Aoko's character. (I think) Rolling Eyes

I haven't seen X, but I do know you could have been watching the 13th episode of El Hazard: The Alternative World and that was just soooo much worse. Shocked

Anyway, I like Pokemon and the whole Dragonball/Z/GT stuff. And while they are pretty bad I don't mind spending time watching them.
