I just noticed that Funimation's recent xxxHolic DVD 1 doesn't have their alternate angles for the OP and ED. While some of Funimation's bonus items like their transparent case/double sided cover image (Gunslinger Girl, Solty Rei, Suzuka), postcards (Moon Phase, Mushishi, Hell Girl), slipcases (Full Metal Panic 2, Witch Blade, Solty Rei) the really nice booklets (Samurai 7, Full Metal Alchemist, Burst Angel), digipack editions (Trinity Blood, Basilisk, Speed Grapher) or other random stuff like the Beck Guitar picks or the School Rumble magnets sometimes are not included the alternate angle feature has been included on all of their titles (since Blue Gender) that I can think of.
In the case of Rumbling Hearts I believe that someone actually pointed out that there is a change in one of the shots in the OP. It is also fun to have the karaoke track in the Japanese font like School Rumble, or Suzuka's case. I hope this is just an isolated case where they couldn't acquire the Japanese credits for this release since it is a nice feature which probably doesn't cost Funimation much to add. Funimation's biggest strength has been in it's inclusion of extra goodies at the $30 MSRP price and I would hate to see this simple bonus go away.
Can anyone confirm that xxxHolic is a special case, or have you noticed a lack in alternate angles on any other Funi titles that I haven't gotten around to watching yet? Does anyone else really even care about this feature?

Well, there isn't much of an OP to speak of, but I have the Shin Chan DVD and there is no alternate angle of it or the ED. Of course, there is not Japanese language track either, so this one might not be a good example.
I have Gunslinger Girl too, and I didn't even that feature existed until you mentioned it. Maybe that has something to do with their (possible) omission? I actually would prefer interviews/commentary with the English VAs or the Japanese writers/directors, and let them know it with each reply card I get.

I think there is an English commentary on Gunslinger Girl. I do clearly remember there being both subtitles and dubtitles to choose from on this release. I accidentally had the dubtitles up and quickly noted it since the translations are very different.
I did a quick scan on recent initial box set titles and it seems that both GTO and Initial D sets also lack alternate angles, but all three Slayers sets have them. So I'm not too surprised that the Shin chan release is missing the alt angle. AN/Funi's Hare & Guu also doesn't have the angle feature which isn't surprising. I have yet to buy Shuffle, One Piece, Black Blood Brothers, or Glass Fleet. Own most of the other Funi releases and am in the process of checking on them but they all have alt angles so far.
It's neat to see how they sometimes keep the same style in the logo like for Kodocha, while other shows like Tsubasa (girlier with wing behind in Japanese and very blocky in English) have very different logos.

I never really pay attention to angle changes and usually skip openings anyway unless they've got some really good music.

Shuffle is the same way. I'm pretty sure their other newly started titles are the same way. They recently fixed their video encoding problems (not that I ever really noticed them myself) but they dropped the alternate angles in exchange. It seems to be a general trend starting with Shuffle.
