Any word on the new Gundam seed movies which were supposed to be released soon. haven't heard anything for about a year now. I think first movie was going to focus on Athrun

Well there's the Gundam Seed Special Edition films which were released from Bandi on DVD here in the US about a year or two ago that recap Gundam Seed. There's 3 of them.
Then there's this which there isn't much info on to be found. Otherwise it would be there. |

Actually, there was something in one of ANN's daily links a little while ago saying that the Gundam SEED movie had been delayed up until now because the writer or director or somebody important had been ill since Destiny finished. However I believe it said that they were set to get back on track soon. I'm fuzzy on the details as you can see but you could probably find that link easilly. It wasn't that long ago.
