Pretty soon I am going to be purchasing Project Arms. I've heard some reviews that are both pretty bad and pretty good. I'd like to know what the action of the anime could be compared to. Question

Well I've watched the first 8 eps of this one but I'd didn't dig it. The plot point and some of the whiney main characters just didn't do it for me. The story seems pretentious and in need of an overhaul.

Theres lots of violence blood and gore but you can get that from any decent action based anime as long as you have the right rhythm to it.

But you may not want to listen to me...

"Project Arms" is a show that I enjoy, and yet I know why other people don't like it. Compared to other shows, it's very generic and uses a lot of angst. It animation can fall flat at times, and the pacing isn't always done very well. And yet...I like it. I don't know why, but I like it. Maybe it's because I like it when everything just clicks together.

My suggestion to you is that before you purchase the anime, try the manga. The first three volumes are out right now, and the anime follows the manga very closely aside from some toned down violence (ex: in the anime, a guy is simply knocked away; in the anime, his head is cut off). If you like the manga, there's a good chance you'll like the anime.

I think the action is okay. I saw some of the first episode. Project Arms is just like any other kick/go on to the next stronger guy anime. S.R.Cryed I think would be a better choice. But that's just me. Like arxane said, try the manga, and if you like the manga, you'll for sure like the anime.
