Sci-fi channel used to air anime every morning at 9am and then every night for a week in the summertime. I am trying to find a list of the movies that they aired so i can somehow get ahold of them. this is what first started me onto anime and gave me a reason to wake up before midday on a saturday. me, my brother and cousin watched it religiously. so if anyone can get a list or part of one, that would be great!

I remembered that many, many months ago the sci-fi channel/anime thing had been briefly mentioned...and because I'm bored, I found the thread.

animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5424

I don't know which is more sad...the fact that I remembered this thread or that I went and found it.

This is all that I remember showing at one time in the Anime Channel.

Lily Cat
Robot Carnival
Akira
Demon City Shinjuku
Record of Lodoss War
Vampire Hunter D
Galaxy Express 999
Casshan the Robot Hunter
Project A-ko and its sequels
Dominion Tank Police
Eyes of M.A.R.S.
Armitage
Iria the Animation
Green Legend Ran
Lensman

I have a filling that I am missing some, though. I mainly remember these from the completely horrendous dubbing jobs that were done on most of them.

Adieu, Galaxy Express 999 is the only one I remember that wasn't on the list.

I loved Robot Carnival with that short story about a robot that falls in love and trys to save her from that evil aliens that kidnapped her.

These animes on the Sci-fi channel definitly got me started as an anime fan. Its shameful that they took them off...

Yeah i remember those same shows when SFC used to broadcast them back in the day,(If i'm not mistaken 8-man after was also included in the SFC's lineup.)I think this was the first American cable network that had a dedicated spot for Anime.
which sort of paved the way for CN's Adult Swim ,Tech TV and Starz's Action channel. Cool
