What year was Nadia Secret of Blue Water made.

Hey what year was Nadia really made, on the vintage is says 1990 but i think thats lying cause on my DVD trailer it says Copyright 1989 so it was made in 1989 not 1990, I contributed it but its not there anymore. 1989 is true according to ADV. What do you all think is right?

1989, thats what I thought cause I have a box set of Nadia, but it was early 1990 so that pretty old too. But I think its way more interesting than Sailor Moon, I'm a totally animefreak now buying loads of anime now. Laughing

Nadia expert Marc Hairston says that it first aired on NHK on Friday April 13, 1990.

For some reason I believe you, Sogo Vision i think made the anime in 1989 and was aired in Japan in 1990 i think that. Arrow

Well, considering that I don't think they made 39 episodes in a little over 3 months, I'm sure it was in production in 1989, if not earlier. (I know the series is based largely on ideas Hayao Miyazaki had in the 1970s, after reading Jules Verne books, but never produced into a series, though Miyazaki recycled a few of those ideas into Laputa: Castle in the Sky.)

However, since production often takes years and, since, sometimes, it's very hard to pin down when work began in earnest on something, ANN is only concerned with the date the general public first saw the finished work.
