Definitely one of the most prolific writers out there. With him announcing 20 new projects, I was ready for it to all be new books, because he's just Like That.

Man, seeing this makes me wish Vertical never "cancelled" releasing Zaregoto. Here's to hoping they just were taking a long break before the 4th volume.... a nice...long...3 year break...

I have the Del Rey volumes of Zaregoto. I have the Vertical volumes of Zaregoto. I finally gave up on waiting for volume 4 to come out and imported the whole series from a used bookshop in Japan. It will take me years to read them, though hopefully my current two pages a day rate will improve with time.
But hey, Vertical, I'm here for you if you ever release volume 4. |

Preferably one that properly adapts the take character designs rather than making them look like monogatari series rejects. |

Shaft fan-boy that I am, I was a bit disappointed in the character designs, too. But the characters were just set-dressing for the fantastic architecture of the island mansion. But I'd just settle for a US release of the OVAs. |

I feel that any publisher that picks up a dropped series should be obligated to translate it to the end. Vertical dropping Zaregoto is such a slap in the face. |

Knowing how Japan is, I'm sure most of these projects will just be trivial stuff like buttons and hats. One of the confirmed projects is a sticker giveaway so that's already a red flag.
Looking forward to what the new series will be. Hopefully, it's something that features kotodama/ Japanese wordplay as a power system because the style users of Medaka Box we're probably the highlight of the series. |
