at this point, i'm looking at this ai stuff and going (in a exhausted voice, mind you), "at this point, like...whatever..." it bothers me, i guess, but i'm more-so apathetic and not really using it beyond like one thing. only really use perplexity to help me understand stuff...aaand that's about it.
not really motivated when it comes to the rest of the ai stuff...because a lot of it is about as superfluous as microsoft and copilot (oh, and apple intelligence, can't forget about that).

This will, of course, not produce anything worthwhile

I mean, im not trying to downplay your emotions on AI, but being apathetic towards it wont help (dw, im not advocating for AI), remember AI is not only generated things, it can be for organizing stuff, files, things like that. So this news is not really anything to panic over or be apathetic over.

You do realize they specifically mention they're hiring for AI Imagine Generation? Also stuff like Perplexity is also harming the planet and society. ALL ai is unethical. It's raising hardware prices to the point where in a few years, you won't even own a phone, console, or PC. Normal people will be in a pre-digital world while the rich are served by AI. No jobs, no entertainment.

don't know if this counts, but recommendation systems in services also get my approval (though i think those use actual curators rather than ai).
now that i'm thinking about it, i feel like i was almost exclusively talking about the "generative ai" side when i typed that, so...yeah...apologies for that... |
Read above. Even perplexity is speeding up the fall of society. And honestly, if you need that to "understand" things then you probably should go back to school. I don't mean that in a mean way, but a big purpose of school was actually teaching people who to learn without the need for someone else to spell things out for them. AI is not a "tool". It's a harmful weapon that only exists to scam and destroy.

I don't think companies usually establish entire subsidiaries so that they can organize their files. It's obviously going to be incorporated into their games and anime production.

I was using the files example as an example for "AI is not just used for image generation" and things like that.
@Kougeru
AI can be used as a tool, not all AI is bad.

Totally agree. Any company that uses it gets blacklisted. It's pure evil with no practical use other than depriving investors of their dollars while simultaneously destroying society and the planet.

I'm not spending a dime on any game or other piece of entertainment that advertises the use of AI. Full stop.

Everyone disliked that.
"Hey we had an amazing 2025 with Umamusme blowing up in the west, how do we ruin all of this goodwill?"

Deep sigh.
I'm so tired of AI. I don't want genAI implemented into all my games.
They're looking to fire people. They're throwing everything into genAI so in the future they can fire as many of the creatives making their creative works as possible.
I don't know how they expect people to spend all their income on gacha when basically every industry is chomping at the bits to replace their employees with plagiarism machines
It sucks because cygames are involved in a lot of games I play and if they start implementing AI I'm gonna have to stop playing them.
Not that that will help since nobody takes a stance anymore. People just complain and then continue giving their money to evil companies.
Also seconding everyone who says all AI is unethical.

This sucks so much. I've been playing granblue fantasy for 6+ years. Met a lot of good friends who i've even traveled to meet irl. I've been wanting to attend Granblue Fes for a while and was determined to make it this year, now I'll feel dirty if I do it. Already on this year's GBF there was some background art that looked suspicious, and now I'm almost certain was AI generated. I'm also not going to buy any of these year's Valentine's cards, as much as it pains me.
There's been a significant backlash to this announcement and I hope they realize this tarnishes all of their work, even new Shadowverse cards are getting bombarded with people asking whether they're AI. People have been theorizing the reason they didn't release a 10th anniversary artbook is because they're skipping the concept art phase altogether by using GenAI. I hate it here so much.
