yeah, no. First, there's no such thing as "AI Art". It's just AI images. Second, people have already proven time and time again that they only "fix" it when they it gets exposed and mass complaints come in. For example all the "placeholder" art. It's only "placeholder" when they get caught because they "forgot" to replace it with real art. But the truth is they never intended to replace it. The issue is people who are FOR SOME INSANE REASON doing this to make money instead of actually create something. People who truly want create something won't use a "tool" like AI (it's not a tool, just a cheat that steals and destroys the environment) because it's removing agency and literally defeats the entire purpose of doing anything creative. It's like if I told someone "go make me burger" and they make a burger but then I claim that I made it just because I told them what stolen ingredients to put inside of it. I did nothing. AI "artists" do nothing besides steal.
TLDR: People who use AI only contributing to the decline of human cognitive ability, the destruction of the environment, and the homogenization of art via widespread theft and regurgitation. And the most unexpected consequence to me, is that AI is setting us on the path to price normal people out of all electronic devices if things continue as they are. Imagine a world in which only corporations have literally any electronics at all. That's where we're heading if RAM and storage prices don't come down.

I only watched Venus Wars for the first time last year (via the new Sentai release) and I enjoyed it. The story feels like it’s doing too much for the runtime, but the aesthetics were amazing, especially if you’re into 80s stuff.

That’s one of the unfortunate things that happens sometimes when adapting a manga series into a single film.

Certainly a disappointing take re:AI, but I suppose it's not surprising given how Yas grew to dislike his final directorial works of the 80's (Arion, Crusher Joe, etc) & subsequently broke away from anime for decades as a result of near killing himself working on them. So while I don't believe AI is a substitute for actual artistic craft, I can imagine someone with as many production horror stories as him would be willing to use anything that helps lessen the pain.

You’d pretty much be heading that way anyway if these same companies keep involving themselves in the process of hoarding the wealth and keeping everyone from their employees to their consumers in poverty.
