When B-Ko crashes Kei and Miss Ayumi's wedding, one of the guests in the background has a head in the shape of a Moai (ritual statue of Easter Island), which happens to be Bandai Visual's Emotion logo.

The cockpit of the A-Ko Robot is inspired by that of Gunbuster, which is based on the cockpit designs used on many of the mobile suits featured in the Gundam universe.

Kei states that his favorite movie is the Cream Lemon movie "Ami's Journey". This anime was part of a double feature with the original Project A-ko.

The anime that C-ko goes to watch in the movie theater is a parody of "Kimagure Orange Road: I Want to Return to That Day".

The daughter and mother that see the shooting star are parodies of Haruka and Kyoko Godai from Maison Ikkoku. Kyoko's original seiyu even does the voice of the mother.
