Kaspersky Security Software Goes Moe at Comiket

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The Kaspersky security software company is attending Comic Market 92 (Comiket 92) this weekend. To appeal to manga fans, the company decided to moe-ify its products.

Everyone who participates in the gacha at the company's booth at the event is receiving an original Eromanga Sensei clear file. The gacha prize drawing is also giving away one Nintendo Switch console, 50 Kaspersky Security 2017 software packages with special packaging with a moe illustration by Rityu, 150 Kaspersky character Green Bear plushes, three matryoshka doll sets, and 100 Green Bear pens.

In addition to giving away products and promotional items as prizes, Kaspersky is selling its security software with special packaging. Rityu's special moe illustration is of Kasper-chan, the Kaspersky image character. The special version of the software is available for 4,860 yen (about US$45), and the first 200 people to purchase it at the event are receiving Kasper-chan acrylic key holders. In addition, Kaspersky is selling the Green Bear plush for 2,000 yen (US$18).

The character Kasper-chan is a girl who fights in cyberspace to protect people from viruses and net crimes. When the time comes, she is calm and has inner strength. However, she also has a cute side that always carries a Green Bear plush. She gets violently angry if someone takes her Green Bear away. It remains a mystery why she is so attached to her plush character.

Kasper-chan was created specifically for Comic Market 92. Kaspersky's event website teases that if the number of Kasper-chan fans surpasses 1,000 the company may release a life-size blanket.

As another moe touch, Green Bear Girls are standing near Kaspersky's event booth.
