This Fate/Stay Night Pumpkin Will Leave You Screaming

There are plenty of terrifying foes in the Fate universe, both human and servant. There's Kirei Kotomine, the Caster Gilles de Rais, and the formidable Berserker Hercules. Arguably, the series' most hated character is Zōken Matō, a primary antagonist in the Heaven's Feel route. The Matō family head looks barely alive with his sunken, wrinkled face. The staff at anime studio ufotable found his countenance more than enough inspiration for the company's jack-o-lanterns.
The staff enlisted the skills of a professional to turn the gourd into a ghoul. The carver first practiced with clay to get a feel for how to go about the delicate work.
The pumpkin is on display at ufotable cafe in Tokyo today and will be available to view depending on how long it stays fresh.
The Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel II. lost butterfly film opens in theaters in Japan on January 12, 2019. The movie is the second in ufotable's planned trilogy based on the visual novel's Heaven's Feel route.
