Please Save My Earth Returns to the Real Tokyo Tower For Commemorative Stamp Rally

In Saki Hiwatari's classic Please Save My Earth manga, the Tokyo Tower plays a significant role to the plot: Rin has a plan to use the tower to broadcast radio signals to the moon.
35 years after the manga first began serialization, the series has announced that it will return to the Tokyo Tower for a commemorative stamp rally. The story around the stamp rally involves gathering "keywords" for each of the moon base members in order to activate a remote control device set up in the Tokyo Tower. Participants will receive a commemorative postcard with original art drawn by Hiwatari. A shop and gallery featuring Please Save My Earth art materials will also be available at the Tower Gallery on the third floor.
The event, which commemorates the 40th anniversary of Hiwatari's art career, will be held in 2022 from January 8 to 23.
Hiwatari launched the Please Save My Earth manga in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine in 1986, and ended it in 1994. Viz Media published the original Please Save My Earth (Boku no Chikyū wo Mamotte or Boku Tama) manga in North America, and it also released the original video anime adaptation.
The sequel manga Boku o Tsutsumu Tsuki no Hikari - Boku Tama Jisedai-hen (Embraced by the Moonlight) launched in 2005 and concluded in 2014. It was followed by the Boku wa Chikyū to Utau (I Sing With Earth) sequel in 2015.
