News Live-Action Blood: The Last Vampire Film Opens in U.S.

Chris Nohan's live-action adaptation of Production I.G's Blood: The Last Vampire film opens on Friday in 20 theaters in eight states and the District of Columbia. Those 20 theaters are located in Berkeley, Irvine, Los Angeles (three theaters), San Diego, San Francisco, Aiea, Honolulu, Chicago, Cambridge, Waltham, Las Vegas, New York (two theaters), Dallas, Houston, Seattle (two theaters), and Washington, D.C. South Korea's Jeon Ji-hyun (under her English name, Gianna Jun) plays the main character Saya, a sword-wielding girl hunting down supernatural creatures near an American military base in Japan. Japanese actress Koyuki plays her opponent Onigen. Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor, Urusei Yatsura) wrote the original anime film that Hiroyuki Kitakubo directed.
