3-minute episode 0 to promote 1st printed manga volume about agricultural girls

The anime studio Toei Animation and the Japanese publisher Mag Garden have announced on Thursday that an animated video short will promote the first print volume for Minori Kagura's Nōgyō Musume! (Agricultural Girls) web manga. The story of Nōgyō Musume! centers around Hikari and Hikaru Koshino, two sisters (played by Shiori Mikami and Ayumi Tsuji, respectively) who take care of the paddy they inherited from their parents. Together, the sisters grow rice and hang out with their friends in the local area.

Nōgyō Musume! is the first work in Toei and Mag Garden's collaborative "MG x TA Project." The "Episode 0" promotional anime, which runs about three minutes long, will be screened on display monitors at book stores and anime goods stores to promote the August 12 release of the first print volume. Hiroshi Ikehata, an episode director on Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Hayate the Combat Butler, directed the short with character designs by Masakazu Sunagawa. Toei and Mag Garden also plan to stream the anime on the title's official website, and they will later run it in an October 7 special on the Animax channel on the CS satellite television service.
