News Montreal's Fantasia Film Fest to Screen 1st Berserk Film

Viz Media announced on Thursday that it will screen the Canadian premiere of Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - The Egg of the King at the Fantasia International Film Festival on Montreal. The film will run on August 4 at 11:45 a.m. at Concordia University's Hall Theatre, and again on August 5 at 3:05 p.m. at the same location. The film is competing for the Satoshi Kon Award for Achievement in Animation.
Viz licensed the Berserk film trilogy in North America. The trilogy has also been licensed for release in Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, and South Korea.
Last week, the organizers of the Fantasia International Film revealed that the event would screen Takashi Miike's (Ichi the Killer, Crows Zero, Yatterman, Ace Attorney) live-action film, For Love's Sake (Ai to Makoto). The festival previously announced that it would also screen the anime adaptation of George Akiyama's Asura manga, as well as the Blood-C: The Last Dark anime film. The festival is running from July 14 to August 7.
