Tonari no 801-chan's Kojima Starts Alice in Deadly School Manga

4-panel manga about girls in school clubs debuts in Comic Dengeki DaiohG magazine

Manga creator Ajiko Kojima launched the four-panel manga series Alice in Deadly School in the second issue of ASCII Media Works' Comic Dengeki DaiohG magazine on Saturday.

The school comedy series follows the interactions and light arguments between two girls in the Manzai (comedy duo) Study Group and the girls in various other school clubs. Producer and screenwriter Kaworu Asakusa is writing the manga. Asakusa posted a preview of the manga (pictured at right) on his Twitter account on Sunday.

Kojima serialized Tonari no 801 chan on her website before publishing it in Ohzora Publishing's Romance Tiara magazine. The web comic provided the source material for two spinoff manga aimed at a younger audience. The manga was later adapted into into two live-action films in in 2007 and 2011. Kyoto Animation planned to animate the manga, but the project was cancelled. The fourth collected volume of the manga included the anime short Tonari no 801-chan R in 2009.
